Retire Your Hubby Series (1)

What does “Retire Your Hubby” mean?

Why would you want to “Retire Your Hubby”? This seems like a silly question but in all honesty it is relative to what this blog is all about.

To me writing this, it is all about how you want your life to be like.

Not meaning that you have to have hubby home, more that you have the choices.

Choices

These choices can look different to everyone but here goes with some I think are important.

  • Buy a house
  • Take family on holiday
  • Spend time with family
  • Have a massage
  • Go to kids events
  • Buy a car

As you can see there are more things that can be added to this, every list is different.

Lifestyle Choices

What does retiring your hubby mean to you?

Does it mean having him home 24/7 to annoy the crap out of you?

Does it mean having him home to support you and the family?

You can always look at it from two ways as above.

Happy Wife / Happy Life

Don’t let your business success destroy your marriage or your time with your family.

So many people have contacted me lately asking for advice on how to “Retire your Hubby with your business success”.

Here is an excerpt from a message that was just sent to me:

“We must have some kind of secret to such a strong marriage, especially considering the type of work that I am in, I receive many messages on a daily basis from men and spouse’s of my photographers asking how I can be ok with that.

I have replied to everyone but I haven’t had much time to put into the message.

So I thought maybe you had something that I could share with them to encourage them.” – Val Jones,

Well, I’m so sorry Val.

But there is NO SECRET.

No Secret

We just work hard at staying connected, talking about it often and asking each other questions. ️

While there is no secret, I do want to share my 3 tips to Retire your Hubby with your business success!

3 Tips to Retire Your Hubby

Tip 1: Find your common end goal

There are so many ways to make money online, so make sure you find your common end goal.

Is it the freedom to travel?

Just the freedom of having more time?

Maybe it’s the business success that money provides.

Whatever it is, make sure your hubby has the same end goal for you as well.

Many times, couples have different end goals for their partner in business.

Which leads to so much confusion!

Tip 2: Communicate about it often

Just like anything else in a relationship, talking about it often keeps it fresh in your minds.

But it is so important to have new conversations about it over and over again.

A lot of times we will have a conversation once, and then think we are done with the topic.

However, after a few weeks, your hubby will probably have a new thought, or concern, or want to know more!

These are opportunities to have new conversations, instead of “Well you already know” and crossing it off your list as done discussion.

Tip 3: Ask each other questions

Some of my favorite questions to ask your hubby:

What do you love most about what I’m doing?

Are there any challenges you see?

Do you want me to share with you any challenges I may have?

Is there anything I can do to inspire you to be with me on this?

Do you need anything from me?

Asking these questions will help you better understand each other.

And this is so essential for a happy relationship.

Ask Questions

!IMPORTANT!

Finding these questions also takes time, effort and thought.

So don’t wait for an annual conversation, have little conversations all the time.

Ask one of these questions in the morning.

Send him a quick text to ask him a question at lunch.
